Analysis of Regional Impacts
The Development of Regional Impact (DRI) review process ensures that officials are able to make informed decisions about proposed major developments, specifically their impacts on infrastructure, the environment and adjoining areas. GRTA and ARC jointly manage this state-mandated process in metro Atlanta, and specify what to analyze, and the data sources and methodologies to use. Their review of
project impacts will be available to
local officials and the public prior
to City action on the proposed
re-zonings. Info from the
NE Atlanta Beltline
DRI review
can be accessed below.
The Atlanta Regional Commission,
on June 24, 2006, released the
results of its review of the
Development of Regional Impact
(DRI) for the proposed Northeast
Atlanta Beltline. The finding: "After
reviewing the information submitted for the review, and the comments received from affected agencies, the Atlanta Regional Commission finding is that the DRI is in the best interest of the Region, and therefore, the State."
ARC Final Report
On the heels of the ARC's approval of the NE Atlanta Beltline
development plan, the Georgia Regional Transportation
Authority on June 29, 2006, also approved the plan-with
conditions. The conditions - some of which were needed and
discussed prior to this project - are conditions imposed on the
city. It is up to the city to decide how and/or when to fulfill them
from either general fund resources and/or impact fees generated by this project.
